“They gave their all for the team!”

Kate (Jo Johnston) is a college reporter who wants a story on how cheerleading demeans women, so she joins the squad undercover to get it. Her new teammates include Andrea (Cheryl Smith), Mary Ann (Colleen Camp) and Lisa (Rosanne Katon), and the practices and pep rallies are nothing like the picture she brought in. Jack Hill shoots it on a low budget in grainy, sun-bleached 1970s color that matches the brash, loose-limbed mood.
