The Tale of The Princess Kaguya

In a village in old Japan, an elderly bamboo cutter and his wife find a tiny girl inside a glowing stalk and raise her as their own. She grows fast, and as Princess Kaguya (Aki Asakura) she draws the attention of everyone who sees her. Isao Takahata draws her world in loose watercolor and rough charcoal lines, the bamboo grove pale green and the brushstrokes left showing.
