“Taut! Torrid! Tremendous! T Is for Terror!”

Pat Brennan (Randolph Scott) is a former ranch foreman who has just lost his horse in a bet, and he catches a ride on a stagecoach carrying Willard Mims and his wife Doretta (Maureen O'Sullivan). Three outlaws led by Frank Usher (Richard Boone) hijack the coach and hold the passengers for ransom. Budd Boetticher keeps the hostages in one spot while Brennan works out how to get himself and the Mimses out alive, and every move he makes risks all three of them.
