The Taste of Tea

“We were all watching the sunset, at the edge of the universe.”

Sachiko (Maya Suzuno) is a young girl in rural Tochigi who keeps being followed by a giant version of herself. Her mother Yoshiko (Satomi Tezuka) works on an animated film at home, and her uncle Ayano (Tadanobu Asano) has come back from Tokyo and the music business to sort out his head. Katsuhito Ishii follows the Harunos through slow days, and the film mostly rests on how these five people live alongside one another.
