The Tasters

“Every meal could be their last.”

Rosa (Elisa Schlott) left Berlin in autumn 1943 to wait out the war with her husband Gregor's parents in Gross-Partsch, while he fights on the Russian front. Then the SS takes her to a place she doesn't know and sets a plate of food in front of her. Silvio Soldini's film is about the women who eat Hitler's meals first, and how little choice they have in it.
