The Tattoo
Félicien Mézeray (Louis de Funès), an art dealer, wants a Modigliani, and the only copy he has located is inked across the back of an old soldier, the Comte de Montignac (Jean Gabin), who goes by Legrain. Denys de La Patellière sets the two of them against each other, a fussy buyer with a checkbook and a stubborn veteran who owns the picture without being able to take it off. Mézeray will go to any length to get that skin, and Legrain has no plans to sell it.
