In Egypt, under the rule of a pharaoh who has ordered Hebrew infants killed, one baby is set adrift and raised as a prince in the royal household. Moses (Charlton Heston) grows up beside Rameses (Yul Brynner) and close to Nefretiri (Anne Baxter), until the truth of his birth turns him toward the enslaved people he never knew were his own. DeMille shoots it in VistaVision, filling the frame with palaces, crowds and desert, and narrates it himself.
