The Terminal

“Life is waiting.”

Viktor Navorski (Tom Hanks) arrives at JFK airport with a dream of starting over in America, but a coup back home leaves him legally stranded in the terminal. He settles into the fluorescent corridors, befriending the staff and learning to survive between worlds. Spielberg shoots the airport as a kind of purgatory that gradually becomes home, finding grace in small kindnesses and the stubborn human need to belong somewhere.
