Harry Benson (George Segal) is a computer scientist whose head injury has left him with violent seizures. Doctors led by Dr. Janet Ross (Joan Hackett) decide to insert a microcomputer into his brain to control them, a new procedure, and not entirely successful. Mike Hodges keeps Benson at the center of the frame, a man in a hospital gown with a scar and a machine under his skull.
