The Terribly Sad Princess

Prince Václav (Václav Neckář) wants to choose his own bride, and he is wary of marrying anyone he has never met. Two kings, Henry (Jaroslav Marvan) and Good-thought (Bohuš Záhorský), settled long ago that their only children would wed, so that war between their kingdoms would never come again. Bořivoj Zeman sets it to songs by Jan Hammer, with Princess Helena (Helena Vondráčková) waiting in her castle, the sad princess of the title.
