The Third Part of the Night

Poland under Nazi occupation. Michał (Leszek Teleszyński) watches his mother, his wife and his child murdered, then finds himself pulled into a life that does not belong to him. Andrzej Żuławski fills the story with trapdoors and doubles, so that Michał's face keeps turning up on other people, and Marta (Małgorzata Braunek) looks back at him from a place he cannot name.
