The Thirteenth Year

“Cody's not just growing up... he's growing fins!”

Cody Griffin (Chez Starbuck) is a regular kid whose thirteenth birthday brings fins and slimy scales he can't explain. He learns his birth mother is a mermaid, which sends him toward Sam (Courtnee Draper) and a family he never knew he had. Duwayne Dunham's Disney Channel film treats growing up as a change in the body that nobody asks you about first.
