The Tiger and the Snow

“A love-struck Italian poet is stuck in Iraq at the onset of an American invasion.”

When the Iraq war breaks out in 2003, Attilio de Giovanni (Roberto Benigni), a poet who teaches in Rome, boards a flight to Baghdad. Vittoria (Nicoletta Braschi), the woman who has never returned his love, has been badly injured there. Benigni, who also directed, keeps Attilio's dreams of marrying her close at hand, while he searches under the bombs for the doctors who might save her, and for his friend Fuad (Jean Reno), who stands between the two of them.
