“Lou haunts a house - for free!!”

Horatio Prim (Lou Costello) is a tinker in Revolutionary War New England, and he and Melody Allen (Marjorie Reynolds) both die branded as traitors. They come back as ghosts in the twentieth century, bound to a house, hunting for the letter from George Washington that would clear their names. Charles Barton puts them among the house's new living occupants, who cannot see them and have no idea who the two are.
