The Toll

“Everybody pays the troll toll.”

Why would a man with a criminal past choose the quietest toll booth in Wales for his solo shifts? Brendan (Michael Smiley) is hiding in plain sight, until word of where he is gets out and his enemies start heading west. Catrin (Annes Elwy), a local traffic cop chasing a simple robbery, is driving toward the same booth at exactly the wrong time. Ryan Andrew Hooper keeps the whole film pressed into that cramped space, so the dread builds with every car that rolls up.
