The Tourist

“It all started when he met a woman.”

The night train to Venice carries Frank Tupelo (Johnny Depp), an American tourist traveling alone, and Elise Clifton-Ward (Angelina Jolie), a British woman who sits down across from him as if she had picked him out. Their easy flirtation draws the notice of Inspector John Acheson (Paul Bettany) and a mobster, who both seem to be watching her. Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck shoots the canals and hotels in glossy, expensive light.
