A mutated creature walks out of a vat of toxic waste after a gang of thugs pitches the health club janitor Melvin through a third-story window as a cruel joke. What stumbles out is huge and misshapen, and the town has to decide whether it is a monster or a protector. Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz shoot it on grainy stock, with Sara (Andree Maranda) and Slug (Robert Prichard) caught in that wet, glowing sludge.
