Os Trapalhões no Auto da Compadecida

In the small town of Taperoá, João Grilo (Renato Aragão) and Chicó (Dedé Santana) scrape by on schemes, cheating a sacristan and a humble baker (Zacarias) while the bishop, the priest and the major squeeze everyone else. Then the bandit Severino attacks, and the whole town ends up standing trial in the sky before God and the Virgin Mary. Roberto Farias builds the film on the bond between the two friends, one quick with a lie, the other along for every one of them.
