The Travelling Players
Elektra (Eva Kotamanidou) wants to keep the troupe together and its one play on the road, though the Greek countryside keeps changing around them. From 1939 into the early 1950s, her family and the other players tour towns with "Golfo the Shepherdess" while war, occupation and civil strife press in. Theo Angelopoulos ties their private grudges to the country's history, and every year the players stay on the road costs them someone close.
