The Tree

“Life is a force of nature”

Simone O'Neil (Morgan Davies) is eight years old and certain her father is still alive, living in the giant fig tree beside the family's house in the Australian countryside. Julie Bertuccelli follows her and her mother Dawn (Charlotte Gainsbourg), left alone with four children after Peter's sudden death, as the roots threaten the house. A child's belief and a widow's grief both need somewhere to live, and the tree is the only place either has found.
