The Triplets of Belleville

“Get your hands together for The Triplets of Belleville!”

In a grey French postwar town, Madame Souza raises her grandson Champion, and the two of them get by on a small house, a faithful dog named Bruno, and the boy's devotion to bicycles. When Champion is kidnapped during the Tour de France, she and Bruno go after him and find the Belleville Sisters, an aged song-and-dance trio from the days of Fred Astaire. Sylvain Chomet's debut feature is about the quiet stubbornness of an old woman who will not leave someone behind.
