(1971)Directed by Mihalis Kakogiannis105 min · PGDrama
“The strength of mankind has always been its women.”

The war is over and Troy is finished, and Hecuba (Katharine Hepburn) must take stock of what remains while the Greeks decide who among the captured women lives, who is enslaved, and who is executed. Her daughter Cassandra (Geneviève Bujold) dreads her masters, and Helen (Irene Papas) waits to learn her own fate. Michael Cacoyannis keeps the women together in the ruined city, and Hecuba sits among them with her dead son's widow and grandson close beside her.
