The True Story of Jesse James

“The real story… really told for the first time!”

After the Civil War, Jesse James (Robert Wagner) and his brother Frank (Jeffrey Hunter) come home to Missouri wanting nothing more than a farm. Union sympathizers keep after them, and the brothers gather a gang that robs trains and turns them into folk heroes. Nicholas Ray follows Jesse as he marries Zee (Hope Lange) and keeps up a quiet home life, while the outlaw he has become keeps asking for one more raid.
