The Truth About Charlie

“Everybody has a secret.”

Regina Lambert (Thandiwe Newton) is on vacation in Martinique, thinking about ending a whirlwind marriage to a man named Charlie, when she meets the easy, charming Peter Joshua (Mark Wahlberg). Back in Paris, her apartment and bank account have both been emptied, and Charlie has been murdered. Jonathan Demme leaves Regina with four men on her trail and a second stranger offering help, and she has no way of knowing which of them to believe.
