“Watch the children with care.”

Kate (Mackenzie Davis) leaves her teaching job in 1994 to take a post as governess to two orphaned children in a sprawling country estate. Floria Sigismondi puts her in the house with Flora (Brooklynn Prince), who is sweet and watchful, and Miles (Finn Wolfhard), who is older and guarded. Kate has come to look after them, and the longer she stays, the less sure she is of what else lives there.
