“Don't miss this startling spectacle!”

Alonzo (Lon Chaney) is a criminal on the run, hiding in a traveling circus as the Armless Wonder, a performer who throws knives with his feet. Under his shirt he keeps his real arms strapped out of sight, and he watches Nanon (Joan Crawford), the ringmaster's daughter, who flinches from any man's hand. Tod Browning leaves Alonzo's hidden arms bound in the tent, with Malabar (Norman Kerry), the strongman, standing near her.
