The Unknown Woman

Nobody in the Adacher household knows why Irena (Kseniya Rappoport), a Ukrainian woman alone in Italy, has arranged to be their maid. She has worked her way into their lives with care, and the family's fragile young daughter Tea (Clara Dossena) is the person she means to get closest to. Giuseppe Tornatore ties the thriller to her past, which surfaces in fragments and is never explained all at once.
