The Village

“All the glory of a man is nothing but a short dream.”

Yu Katayama (Ryusei Yokohama) wants out of a village that has been swallowed by a vast trash disposal site, and a cruel fate keeps tying him to the ground he is trying to leave. Michihito Fujii follows Yu through the working days of a place that was once scenic, where the Ohashi family, led by Shusaku (Arata Furuta), holds sway. We see the waste piled out past the houses, and Yu among it.
