In the American West of the Warner Bros. cartoons, Charming Jones (Ann-Margret) needs an escort to collect her inheritance from her father. She hires the Handsome Stranger (Arnold Schwarzenegger), while Avery Simpson pays the outlaw Cactus Jack (Kirk Douglas) to waylay her, though Cactus Jack is a poor hand at robbing people. Hal Needham stages the whole western as a live-action Road Runner cartoon, and the film plays it with a straight face.
