The Virgin Psychics

“We save the world.”

Yoshio Kamogawa (Shota Sometani), a shy high schooler, wakes up one day to find that he and his friends have psychic powers. Sion Sono, adapting the manga Minna! Esper Dayo!, sends the teenagers stumbling through their new abilities, most of them as clueless about their own bodies as they are about the powers. The film treats that awkward stretch of being young and untested as a reason for loud, silly celebration.
