The Virgin Suicides

(2000)Directed by Sofia Coppola97 min · RDrama, Romance
“Beautiful, mysterious, haunting, invariably fatal. Just like life.”

A group of boys in a Detroit suburb in 1975 can't stop watching the five Lisbon sisters, who live behind the closed curtains of a strict, religious household. Sofia Coppola, in her first feature, follows Lux (Kirsten Dunst) and the sisters through their parents' rules (James Woods and Kathleen Turner play them) and the boys' guesses at what goes on inside. Lux and Trip Fontaine (Josh Hartnett) are drawn to each other, and the whole neighborhood is watching.
