The Marquis Jacques Antoine Saturnin d'Urfé (Kacey Mottet Klein), an emissary of the King of France, wants only to reach his destination, but he loses his way in a hostile forest. He finds shelter in the home of a strange family, among them Sdenka (Ariane Labed) and Jegor (Grégoire Colin). Adrien Beau's debut adapts Tolstoy's 1839 novella, and the Marquis stays on in the house, a lost traveler in the hostile forest.
