The Wackness

“Sometimes it's right to do the wrong things.”

Luke Shapiro (Josh Peck) is a teenage pot dealer in New York, pushing his cart through a sweltering summer and trading weed for therapy with Dr. Squires (Ben Kingsley), a psychiatrist who is high half the time himself. Then Luke falls for Stephanie (Olivia Thirlby), a classmate who turns out to be the doctor's daughter. Jonathan Levine, drawing on his own years growing up in the city, scores it all to the music of the 1990s.
