The Walking Dead

(1936)Directed by Michael Curtiz66 minCrime, Horror, Science Fiction
“HE DIED a man with a hunger to love... and returned a monster with an instinct to kill.”

A judge is murdered, and the man convicted of it, John Ellman (Boris Karloff), is a down-on-his-luck ex-convict who never did it. The proof of his innocence turns up too late, and he is executed anyway, until Dr. Evan Beaumont (Edmund Gwenn) tries an experimental procedure on the body. Michael Curtiz sets the story among crooked men and a doctor's laboratory, while Nancy (Marguerite Churchill) and Jimmy (Warren Hull) stay close to a man who has returned changed.
