“These are the armies of the night. They are 100,000 strong. They outnumber the cops five to one. They could run New York City. Tonight they're all out to get the Warriors.”

Cyrus calls every gang in New York to one meeting in the Bronx and asks them to put down their turf wars and take the city. He is shot dead before he finishes, and the blame lands on the Warriors, a Coney Island crew led by Swan (Michael Beck) and Ajax (James Remar). Walter Hill sets them on foot against the whole city for one night, with the cops and every rival gang looking for them, and all they want is to get home.
