The Watchmaker of St. Paul

Michel Descombes (Philippe Noiret) is a watchmaker in Lyon who wants only what he has: his workbench, his teenage son Bernard, the quiet routine of a widower's days. Then Commissioner Guilboud (Jean Rochefort) comes to tell him that Bernard has killed a man and is on the run with a girl. Tavernier follows Michel as he sits with the police and starts asking himself how little he knew of the boy at his own table.
