The Way of the Gun

“Choose your side carefully, because the only way out is the way of the gun.”

Mr. Parker (Ryan Phillippe) and Mr. Longbaugh (Benicio del Toro) are small-time criminals drifting through the Southwest, men with no sympathy to spare for anyone. They kidnap Robin (Juliette Lewis), a surrogate carrying the child of a powerful mob money launderer, and plan to hold her for ransom. In his first film as director, Christopher McQuarrie shoots the desert in flat, bleached light and lets the violence arrive fast and close.
