Nobody at the wedding can quite say why Charlie (Charles Pfluger) wants out, least of all Charlie, but the closer the ceremony gets, the harder he works to knock it off course. His tactics include nudging his fiancée Josephine (Jill Clayburgh) back toward her old boyfriend. Brian De Palma and Wilford Leach shot it in 1969 with Robert De Niro among the guests, and the farce runs on bad nerves and loud talk.
