The Whistlers

“Loyalty is not their language.”

Cristi (Vlad Ivanov), a Romanian police officer, wants a crooked businessman out of prison, because the man knows where a mobster's money is hidden. To get there he has to learn Silbo Gomero, the whistled language of the island of Gomera. Corneliu Porumboiu puts Cristi in front of the teacher, Gilda (Catrinel Marlon) among the people around him, his mouth shaped to a pitch he cannot yet hit.
