The White Hell of Pitz Palu

Dr. Johannes Krafft (Gustav Diessl) keeps going back up Piz Palü, a 12,000-foot peak in Switzerland's Bernina Range, because his wife vanished on it during their honeymoon and was never found. Four years later he meets a young couple, Maria (Leni Riefenstahl) and Hans (Ernst Petersen), who agree to join him on his next climb. Arnold Fanck and G.W. Pabst shot it on the mountain itself, and Krafft stands small against the ice, searching.
