The White Masai

Carola Lehmann (Nina Hoss) is on holiday in Kenya with her boyfriend when she sees Lemalian (Jacky Ido), a Masai warrior, and decides she wants to stay with him. Hermine Huntgeburth follows her from the coast into his village, where she learns to eat milk mixed with blood and to live by his idea of what a wife owes her husband. Her love is real, and so is the price of it, which she pays in her own habits, her own food, and her place in the world she left.
