The White Rose
Sophie Scholl (Lena Stolze) is a student at Munich University in 1942, and she and her brother Hans (Wulf Kessler) have begun to doubt the sanity of Germany's Nazi government. They join a small group of classmates who secretly write and distribute a newsletter to the student body, calling themselves the White Rose. Michael Verhoeven keeps the film to the plain business of their meetings and mailings, with the Gestapo closing in.
