The Wife

“Secrets lie between the lines”

The call from Stockholm comes at home, and Joan Castleman (Glenn Close) and her husband Joe (Jonathan Pryce) fly out for the ceremony that will make him a Nobel laureate in literature. Björn Runge keeps the camera close on Joan through the hotel suites and receptions, while a persistent biographer, Nathaniel Bone (Christian Slater), keeps asking questions. Joan smiles and stands beside Joe, and she starts to reckon with what forty years of marriage have taken.
