“Unchanged men in a changing land”

It is 1913 on the Texas-Mexico border, and the Old West is running out of room. Pike Bishop (William Holden) leads a gang of aging outlaws hunting for one last big score, while Sam Peckinpah follows them through the dust and heat with a violence that shocked audiences in 1969. Pike and Dutch Engstrom (Ernest Borgnine) have ridden together a long time, and Deke Thornton (Robert Ryan) trails them now, an old partner once in their company.
