The Wind

“A tornado of human emotions.”

The wind in West Texas is wearing on Letty (Lillian Gish) from the day she steps off the train to stay with her cousin Beverly. His wife Cora greets her coldly, and a trio of suitors, Lige (Lars Hanson) and Roddy (Montagu Love) among them, press their attention on her. Victor Sjöström fills the screen with sand and wind, and Letty looks out at it from the ranch.
