The Winter Guest

“Come In From The Cold”

Elspeth (Phyllida Law) crosses a small Scottish seaside village in winter to reach the house of her daughter Frances (Emma Thompson), recently widowed and raising a son, Alex. Alan Rickman follows that one day through the village as two old women, Chloe and Lily, set off for a funeral and two boys skip school. The sea stays at the edge of every scene, gray and cold.
