“The wiz! The stars! The music! Wow!”

Dorothy (Diana Ross) is a shy, 24-year-old kindergarten teacher in Harlem who wants nothing more than to get home. A storm throws her into a version of Oz built from city streets, where she sets out to find the Wiz and picks up a Scarecrow (Michael Jackson), a Tinman (Nipsey Russell) and a Lion (Ted Ross). Sidney Lumet films the road ahead with Evillene (Mabel King) somewhere in it, and the yellow brick road runs on.
