The Wizard of Lies

“Only those you trust can truly betray you.”

Bernie Madoff (Robert De Niro) is a Wall Street financier whose investment fund has taken in billions from private clients, charities and friends, and whose reputation has never been questioned. Barry Levinson follows the aftermath inside the family, where his wife Ruth (Michelle Pfeiffer) and their sons face what he built. De Niro sits at the head of a table in the family's apartment, the people around him gone quiet.
