Someone is tormenting June Leigh (Naomi Watts), and she cannot see who. Once a known counterculture figure, she now keeps to her South Bronx apartment through the summer of 1977, the summer of Sam. Alistair Banks Griffin keeps nearly the whole film inside her four rooms, where each new pressure finds a weakness she has spent years hiding behind a locked door.
