The Woman in Question

“The suspense-tense surprise of the year!”

Agnes Huston, who tells fortunes as Madame Astra at a run-down fair, is found strangled in her bedroom, and the police have five people to question. Each suspect remembers her differently, and each memory plays out in flashback, so Jean Kent plays a woman who is never quite the same twice. Anthony Asquith builds the film from these separate accounts and leaves the audience to compare them against one another.
